      Birth date: 09/30/1993

      Height: 6’0”

Diagnosis: horrible TMJ, facial asymmetry, 4 bicuspids extracted for orthodontic work. Teeth surface ground down for “bite equilibrium”
Symptoms: Tilted maxilla, tiredness, facial pain, pain in joints , headaches and poor posture
Which activities you cannot do? I can’t do activities that require good posture or sitting/standing for long time
How do you feel?: Tired, unfocused can’t sit/stand for long time and of course chronic pain.
Which therapies did you try before?: chiropractic, yoga, ALF Appliance, osteopath, myofacial therapy
      Introduce yourself:
I was perfectly healthy with no health problems till I was 15. Since my front teeth were big and protruding out, I got orthodontics where they extracted 4 biscupids (pre molars) 2 on top and 2 on bottom. Turns out to be the worst mistake of my life. Within 3-4 years my teeth had shifted and I started getting facial pain. Symptoms keep getting worse. I start getting stabbing pain in my jaw joints and non stop headaches. Overtime my face starts becoming asymmetrical and increased facial musculature. My posture also shifts for the worse and I get a forward head tilt and anterior pelvic displacement. I go to dentist who grinds my back molars to even the bite which makes things even worse in the long run. Now after 2 years in pain, I’m wearing the ALF appliance to expand the maxilla and doing myofacial therapy to get the tongue in the right place. The grinding of the back molars has pushed my neck forward. My whole body is tilted to one side. My tilted maxilla and face is proving to be a hindrance in my upper arch expansion with the ALF. Hopefully Starecta will fix my postural problems and asymmetry problems to continue with ALF appliance upper arch expansion.

            Hello Sathya,

Your situation is extremely similar to mine(check my post). I have a dna appliance to expand arches but I will use the strarecta bite instead for a while. Please stay in contact since you are also in the US. I am in Georgia. thayakaran11@yahoo.com

Here are some updated pictures. Too be honest I think I might even look at a little worse than before. Unfortunately I have to alternate between a flat planned splint (GELB Splint) for TMJ purposes since I have to decompress the joints as well since I have pain issues with displaced discs. I mainly wear the starecta at night and I do wear it as much as I can here and there during the daytime. But seeing these pics I might start wearing my rectifier 24/7 and maybe also move away from using polymorph.

I have included a picture of my rectifier as well below.

Do you use both internal and external cusps? The image is not clear. Read this article to fix it http://academy.starecta.com/knowledgebase/attenzione-alle-fosse/
